Cooking and eating food constitute important, tradition-bearing activities both in everyday life and on special occasions in all cultures. The project’s goal is to establish cultural and interpersonal ties between host society members and migrants with the help of gastronomy. During the project, five sets of one Hungarian and one migrant family units mutually invite their partner families for lunch. Based on these lunch encounters, a migrant cookbook and several publications will be produced. In addition, young film directors will be invited to create short films inspired by these lunches. The project’s results will be presented in a sizeable event in the spring of 2012.
