Fejlődés és kompetencia

For three decades, the Menedék Association has been providing intercultural competence development training focused on the integration of foreigners. As part of this project, we organize capacity-building training courses, methodological workshops for trainers, and case discussions for professionals who come into contact with third-country nationals in their daily work, as well as skills development training for the association's volunteers and interpreters. During the project, an online professional publication will be produced, presenting the experiences and results of the training courses. The publication, which will also include training exercises, will be useful for other organizations involved in training.

The target group of the project consists of professionals working in public services (e.g., public administration, public education, healthcare, social services, etc.) who occasionally or regularly come into contact with third-country nationals in the course of their work. The target group includes employees of social, child protection and healthcare institutions, staff of civil and international organizations dealing with foreigners, professionals working in law enforcement, teachers, teaching assistants, and employers of third-country nationals.

Our goal is to strengthen the intercultural competence of professionals who work with third-country nationals, expand their knowledge of foreigners, and thereby enable them to work more effectively. Our goal is also to develop a sensitive, supportive professional identity, deepen professional self-awareness, develop a network of professionals, strengthen cooperation between professionals working in the field, and coordinate and multiply their activities. The project is expected to reach 400 professionals by December 31, 2026. The training courses will mainly take place in Budapest, but can also be held in rural locations on request.
